:: Books' Week (Hafta-e-Kutub)
Due to increasing expenses in education, more than 70 % of the students in Pakistan are not able to carry on their education. Because of this, literacy rate in Pakistan is decreasing day by day. To control this situation, Jamiat started Books Week (Hafta-e-Kutub) in 1952 to help the needy students by providing them books and paying their fees. This tradition has been carried out since then and every year a week is dedicated for these efforts. Old books and funds are collected by door to door visits, at big markets, populated locations in the city and at educational institutes. These material and funds are then passed onto to needy students in different institutes by Student Welfare Department.
